Market is sideways moving pretty much lately. The bottom line is the path of least resistance for this market is still down—and may be for quite awhile. If we think this earnings season is bad we’ve still got first quarter earnings to get through in April and they are likely to be a whole lot worse than what we are seeing right now. My mid term view till Jun remains the same, bearish to sideways and the trading strategy remains- Sell Calls.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the US stimulus package to see how things will unfold. I am looking to sell some N225 May call options (11000 & above) & possibly some Mar puts from next week onwards on volatility.

Jan 14 Options Writing Trades Update
While the broad strokes are known, many factors remain unclear regarding how bad the economic situation will pan out for 2009. My mid term view (till June) about the market remains bearish to sideways trending. I will continue to sell calls into May & may dabble into a few near month Puts options where the situation permits. I wrote limited N225 Feb 5500 Put for 13 pts yesterday.

Dec 31 Options Writing Trades Update
My current market outlook for the next 4 months remains sluggish to bearish. So I will continue to sell Calls into Apr. I may start to look at Feb's put but will be extremely cautious here. Having said this, no one has a crystal ball & knows for sure where the market is heading. My trading strategy remains.....Think along the lines of where the market may not be going, sell calls or puts....do not over trade, stick to the cut loss limits when the trades go against me. Stay in the game.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year
This week, trading will most likely be lack lustre due to the holidays. In fact, the market has not really made any signifcant moves for the past 2 weeks. I am starting to look at the N225 Feb puts (5500 & below) & the Apr calls. Here's wishing one & all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! May 2009 be a year of spectacular trading income!

Dec 15 Options Writing Trades Update
The benchmark Nikkei rose 428 points Monday, nearly erasing all of the 5.56 percent loss marked on Friday, on hopes of a renewed lifeline for the auto industry. I wrote additional N225 Mar 12500 call option for 30 pts.

Dec 11 Options Writing Trades Update
The benchmark Nikkei .N225 gained 60.31 points to 8,720.55 for a four-day winning streak, however not enough to create interest & volatility in the options. We need those big moves to enter positions more favorably.
