Dec 1 Options Writing Trades Update

There was no rally to be seen on the 1st trading of the month. It simply lacks the carry through & fizzles out as the Nikkei lost 1.4% against a backdrop of thin trading volume. US Employment data is scheduled to be released on Friday & the fate of the big 3 car makers remains unknown leaving investors to stay on the sidelines. I am looking to pick up some opportunistic puts(buy) positions. Dec 6000 Puts & above.

Nov 28 Options Writing Trades Update

US market was closed last night for the Thanksgiving holidays & as a result, Asian markets are relatively directionless Friday. If however , we have a good showing on Wall Street in the subsequent trading sessions when it reopens, Asia market will take their cue from Wall Street & follow suit. As such, it may present good opportunity to take another stab at the N225 Feb 13000 & above call options next week.

Asian markets surge Tuesday following Wall Street's overnight rally after the U.S. government rescued Citigroup. I wrote additional Feb N225 13500 Call option for 30 pts. The Nikkei is currently up 1.5% or 315 pts.

Nov 21 Options Writing Trades Update

Friday, the Nikkei rebounded (late surge) after the last few days of declines to end 207 pts higher or 2.7%. If the rebound continues into next week, it will present good opportunity to take on more of the N225 Feb call options. I am still looking at the 13000 calls & above. How Wall Street perform tonight will have baring on it.

Nov 20 Options Writing Trades Update

Asia markets plunged after overnight losses on Wall Street where the index tumbled to its lowest low in 5 years. The Nikkei shedded a further 570 pts & the strengthening of the Yen did not help either.

Nov 18 Options Writing Trades Update

Japan's Nikkei share average slid 2.3 percent on Tuesday, dented by overnight losses on Wall Street. I added the N225 Feb 13000 & 13500 call options for 45 pts & 25 pts in the recent days.

Nov 14 Options Writing Trades Update

The Nikkei gained 2.7% Friday, but was off its high after Wall Street rebound sharply despite negative & bleak signals about the economy. Investors were caution nonetheless ahead of the G20 meeting this weekend. I am looking at the Feb N225 13000 calls and above. There is perhaps no hurry as there is always a chance of a year end rally to make them more attractive & plus the market has oversold so much already. But of course, no one knows. Anyway, I will be taking on positions now & then.

Nov 13 Options Writing Trades Update

The benchmark Nikkei shed 456.87 points (5.3%) to end at 8,238.64, falling for a third straight day Thursday. This following Wall Street's miserable performance where Stocks sank after the Treasury backed away from using its $700 billion bailout to mop up sour mortgages and added to uncertainty about how the government plans to revive bank lending. Dismal corporate news & forecast also added to the anxiety. With that, N225 Feb's call options are now ripe for the picking whenever there is a strong rebound. I am looking at the 13000 levels and above.

Nov 6 Options Writing Trades Update

For those who sold some calls in the last few days would have been rewarded today when investors refocus on the economy. Japan's Nikkei average fell more than 6.5 percent on Thursday as exporters were battered by a stronger yen, while fears about the economy fed by dismal U.S. data overcame euphoria after Obama was elected president. I picked up additional N225 Jan 14000 calls in the last few days for 20-25 pts.
